2nd Annual Bridges Saudi Arabia
International conference dates: 19 – 20 March 2012
Four Season, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom’s leading annual event dedicated to designing, planning, delivering and maintaining world-class bridges
Following the continued success of IQPC’s global bridges series, including three regional summits, we are delighted to announce the 2nd Annual Bridges Saudi Arabia taking place between 18 – 21 March 2012 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The 2011 edition was held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Hani Bin Mohamed Bin Ahmed Abu Ras, Mayor of Jeddah. The event explored upcoming tender opportunities for the development of cost-effective and durable bridge construction projects for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi construction deals top US $22bn/SAR 84bn in H1 with considerable investment directed towards large scale infrastructure projects SR34.5 billion worth of contracts were awarded in Saudi Arabia during the second quarter of 2011. Over 31% of the awarded contracts were allocated within the infrastructure sector including a number of intercity road and bridge construction projects. Successful development of residential and industrial areas relies on efficiently delivering high-quality infrastructure, in order to attract end users. Properties located in areas where infrastructure is poor experienced a reduced demand due to the heavily congested road network.
Transport authorities and ministries throughout the Kingdom continue to develop and integrate a wealth of bridge projects to improve congestion and access to the public and industrial transportation networks, upgrade existing infrastructure networks and create new rail links including:
- Ministry of Transport
- Saudi Egyptian Business Council
- Jeddah Municipality
- Makkah Municipality
- Northern Borders Municipality
|
- Eastern Province Municipality
- Al Qassim Municipality
- Alkhart Municipality
- Madina Municipality
- Alahsa Irrigation and Drainage Authority
|
Whilst transport authorities and municipalities throughout Saudi Arabia all conform to AASHTO standards for designing, constructing and maintaining bridge projects and the American Institute of Concrete rating; MOMRA are developing standard regulations for all bridge projects. 2nd Annual Bridges Saudi Arabia is the only event where you will hear the client discuss US $144 billion worth of project tenders, gain technical insights into the international best-practice bridge design, construction and management technologies and strategies; and network with leading bridge experts, designers, engineers and key decision-makers.
